I think art in all its forms is amazing for a near endless number of reasons. But for me, greatest among these has to be using it to communicate and consume emotions, it's just the f**king best.

I believe emotions exists on an infinite spectrum. An endless variety of complex types, subtleties and nuances. So much more the simple "happy", "sad", "angry" and other basic terms we crudely use to convey feeling day to day.

I often wonder how the peasant farmer ancestors from whom I have inherited my name would process emotion? Despite what their appearance or standing might suggest, I think their inner worlds would be rich and complex, bright and passionate. Coloured by those who stood over them but nourished by the landscapes they lived in.

It's with apprehension I share my work. Each piece is like a diary entry. Looking at one describes me at the time of creation. What was happening in my life, my thoughts, my hopes and my fears and ultimately my unique complex shade of emotional experience at that moment in time.
